Redondo Beach, located just south of Hermosa Beach, was named after the nearby land grant Rancho Sausal Redondo (which translates to “ranch of the round clump of willows”). It’s also home to King Harbor, the only marina in the south bay with a 1,500-slip private craft port. It’s a sought-after beach destination because of its marina and popular pier with many fine restaurants, hotels, shopping, beach activities and of course the beautiful harbor. King Harbor includes Seaside Lagoon; a saltwater lagoon reminiscent of the old plunge. For more info on Redondo visit, https://www.redondo.org/
Fun Facts: In 1907 George Freeth introduced surfing to the modern world in Redondo Beach. Although the Beach Boys grew up in Hawthorne, a city that is part of the South Bay, the only surfer in the group was Dennis Wilson, the founding drummer.
