Manhattan Beach

The city is known as “The Pearl of L.A.’s South Bay” and was immortalized in the Beach Boys classic, “Surfin’ U.S.A.”

Welcome to Manhattan Beach

Manhattan Beach is in the choice coastal edge of Los Angeles County, just 17 miles from downtown Los Angeles and five miles south of Los Angeles International Airport. The city is known as “The Pearl of L.A.’s South Bay” and was immortalized in the Beach Boys classic, “Surfin’ U.S.A.” Manhattan Beach follows El Segundo going South on PCH. Many impressive beachfront homes line the boardwalk as you walk, run, bike, rollerblade or skateboard on The Strand. Its pier is an iconic landmark for the city and is used for many photographs depicting the popular beach city. You will find surfers out early in the morning catching a wave, along with dolphins and even whales along the coast. Downtown Manhattan Beach is also a culinary and shopping mecca boasting many LA Magazine top-rated restaurants and trendy retail shops. In addition, it is home to a popular country club, movie studios, world class volleyball competitions, swanky beach hotels. Visit citymb.info/ to get to know Manhattan Beach.

Fun facts: The Roundhouse Aquarium, located at the end of the pier was once the surf shop where Keanu Reeves buys his surfboard in the movie “Point Break.” It’s probably the best beach city to people watch and spot a celebrity. The list of celebrities that live in Manhattan Beach is too long to list but we’ve heard you might see some of these celebs about town; Vince Vaughan, Maria Sharapova, Anze Kopitar, Zooey Deschanel, Blake Griffin, Mia Hamm, Kerri Walsh Jennings.
